Fall 2019 ARF Programs

 Wednesday, September 18th - ARF co-sponsored an intergenerational

dialogue with the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement.

 Thursday, October 24th and Friday, October 25th - ARF co-sponsored the Free

Speech Conference organized by Spoma Jovanovic.

 Tuesday, November 19th -ARF co-sponsored with the Office of Leadership

and Civic Engagement, UNCG Faculty Senate, UNCG Staff Senate, and UNCG AAUP Chapter an event titled “Civic Engagement Matters!”

Spring 2020 ARF Programs

 Sunday: 2/2/20 ARF co-sponsored with the UNCG School of Music the

Collage Chamber Concert fund raising event where members collected canned goods, toiletries, and cash donations for the Student Emergency Fund and the Spartan Open Pantry.

 Wednesday: 2/26/20-ARF sponsored Meet & Discuss TED TALKS -Why Ted

Talks Don’t Change People’s Behavior; How I’m Preparing to Get Alzheimer’s; What You Can Do to Prevent Alzheimer’s

 Thursday: 3/12/20 ARF co-sponsored with the Office of Leadership & Civic

Engagement’s Civic Engagement Academy an intergenerational dialogue - Cancelled due to COVID-19

COVID-19 & rescheduled for fall 2020. Sleep is Your Super Power; How to Live Passionately No Matter Your Age; Four Questions You Should Always Ask Your Doctor.

 Wednesday: 5/20/20 from 4 pm- 5:30 pm- ARF 3rd annual business meeting

with election of officers – held via zoom.

ARF Plans for 2020/2021

 Arrange speaking engagement by expert who can offer helpful & creative ideas

for successful/meaningful retirement.

 Reschedule two Meet & Discuss TED TALKS from spring to fall via zoom.  Contact local organizations serving seniors to determine ways we can partner

with them to provide exciting social & learning opportunities.

 Explore offering our members social activities that involve travel, visiting local

sights, restaurant tours, etc.
