Market Our Camps
- Run our camps with optimum utilization for both Scouting and
- utside groups.
- Target key prospects. (Cub/Boy Scout Units/Family/Venturing/Outside
Organizations)
- Expand recruitment of out of Council units. Become “destination”
Camps.
- Develop more Venturing and Family camping opportunities
- Establish creative incentive programs to fit customer needs. (Camp
Year Round)
- Develop world‐class promotional materials/programs.
- Provide "Legendary" customer service to "Keep them coming back!"

Develop Strong Staffs
- Recruit and retain excellent camp leadership that is active
year around to support full year programs.
- Early commitment for Camp Leadership teams.
- Develop "Campmaster" support program for all camps
- Establish year‐round marketing effort with
committee/staff/OA.
- Appropriate pay for expected high performance.
Organize Strong Active Camping Committee Using COPC
- Keep the Committee Chairmen focused on District camping
needs.
- Every District with active camp committee with at least
chairman plus 2. (C+2)
- Recruit key at‐large members with critical skills. (Website,
marketing, trade skills)
- Recruit liaisons members for out of council councils.
- Provide timely information and marketing materials for
committee members.
- Establish Recognition Program for performance.
- Conduct onsite visits to every unit not using our programs.

Produce A Fiscally Sound Camp Program
- Explore all options to make our camps self‐sufficient.
- Beat yearly budget objectives. Target “zero” subsidy 2018,
+10% 2020
- Evaluate and analyze all programs for return on resources.
- Ensure quality food, programs, equipment and facilities.
- Prepare long‐range camp/properties plan to meet Council
Strategic Plan.
- Develop Maintenance/Capital Requirement – On‐going
with 3‐Year Outlook (ABC)
- Develop new exciting programs to satisfy new interests,
new membership.

Be a Working Partner With All Council Functions
- Communicate effectively and support one another's
efforts to support Scouting in our region.
- Engage FSCs in Commitment to Michigan Scout Camping
- Meet quarterly with key committee chairmen to share
goals/programs and progress.
- Communicate all activities to committees that have direct
contact with units.
- Establish close relationships with unit commissioners to
carry the camping message.
