- $8M to fund Interoperability – real-time emergency services communications
- $75M (Incr. of $25M) for school safety grants (physical security of buildings)
- $2.5M for Jewish Day Schools for additional security
- $12.8M Incr. for Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), highest BSA since 2011-12, to total of $415M

- Legislature established the Florida Education Finance Program
in 1973 to comply with the constitutional requirement for uniform system.
- The funding formula used to calculate operating revenue
allocations for 67 school districts including charter schools, 1 special district, 6 lab schools, & Florida Virtual School.
- The purpose is to provide each student in the Florida public
educational system the availability of programs and services appropriate to his or her educational needs.
- These services should be substantially equal to those available
to any similar student notwithstanding geographic differences and varying local economic factors.

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) funding = $415M K-12 public schools funding = $22.9B in total funding with $13.2B state funding K-12 per student funding at $7,979 or $302 per student increase The Florida College System funding = $1.3B State University System of $4.4B billion with state operating funding = $2.7B Components of FEFP Increase: $50 increase in the Base Student Allocation (BSA) $1.4M for a total of $181.4M for school safety initiatives $25M for a total of $100M for mental health initiatives $602.3M to increase the minimum salary to $47,500 for full-time public classroom teachers $290.7M for the new Florida Classroom Teacher Bonus Program $9.4M for the new Florida School Principal Bonus Program.
