Ring-fenced Money
Ring-fenced sum of money to be used to make grants to Not for Profit groups: § Charities, schools, community groups, parish councils, sports clubs, etc
Grants
Grants to support charitable projects with public benefit, which
– are within selected themes – take into account the transformation that the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme will deliver
Themes
The Fund will offer support to projects within 8 themes:
- 1. Environmental improvement
- 2. Reduce vehicle use/promote cycling, walking and
- ther non-motorised transport
- 3. Arts, culture & heritage
- 4. Community involvement
- 5. Community safety
- 6. Community health and wellbeing
- 7. Leisure and tourism
- 8. Skills, education & employment support
Links
Projects need either: § a close geographical link but greater priority to projects that are: § a response to the scheme. For example,
– art projects that reflect landscape/ community change brought about by the scheme – projects that build relationships in communities due to new links created by the scheme – projects enhancing the natural environment around the scheme – training projects that enable people employment on the scheme.
Process and timetable
§ Launch - July 2016 § Grants of up £10,000 available in a series
- f rounds during 2016/17 and 2017/18
§ First deadline 15 Sept 2016 § Application online via CCF website
Recipients
§ Must be ‘Grant Ready’ § Have 10-20% of project costs from other sources § Must agree to provide monitoring on the change/impact of the grant § Recognise source of funding.

Purpose of the Code
§ Sets out a series of measures and standards of work to;
– Control potential impacts on people, businesses and the natural and historical environment – Ensure there are clear methods for engagement during construction

General site operations
§ Section 61 (Control of Pollution Act 1974) § Core hours
– Weekdays 08:00 to 18:00 – Saturday 08:00 to 16:00
§ Start-up and close-down allowed 1 hour either side § Night time works likely – online sections (1, 4 & 5)

Air Quality
§ Dust and air pollution control plus monitoring during construction § Site compound layout designed to minimise potential impact § Machinery to be modern and switched off when not in use § Temporary stockpiles stabilised or covered
Noise and vibration
§ Section 61 (Control of Pollution Act 1974) § We will use best practicable means at source to minimise at all times

Road drainage and water
§ Flood risk – no increase during construction § Mains and private supplies § Land drains § Temp construction site drainage system § Early completion of permanent drainage § Prevent site run-off entering watercourses § Pollution prevention plan
Traffic, transport and road users
Public Traffic § Retain existing number of lanes during the day (Monday to Friday) § Speed restrictions and speed cameras § Breakdown recovery Site Traffic § Haul roads and plant crossings § Left in, left out at works access points § Recycling to reduce lorry movements § Temporary road closures § Traffic management working group
