A series of short films explaining the similarities between the design of an athlete and a car. Both have similar traits and we will connect the two via interviews with the athlete and designers of the car. The athlete will explain what it takes to be a world class athlete (using words like power, stamina, etc.) and will be linked to the car when the designer uses the same words describing the cars. Visually it will be very stylish, with footage of interviews, athlete at work and the car at work. It will be filmed in a very cinematic style. As the sports and cars are quite fast-moving, we will be using the effect of slow- motion, which will look visually beautiful to the audience and it will make the shots more captivating.

Not every car can be called the ultimate driving machine, just like not every athlete can be an olympian. What makes them stand out?

A commitment to details other ignore. The desire to be the best. Dedication to find new ways to out run, out swim, out jump and to out drive the competition.

The production of the athlete is a double narrative video but more focusing on the training of the athlete. The other narrative is the car production. So using shots from the assembly line rather than the working car. Rather than interviews with the athlete and designers it will be with the trainers and production line workers.

FORMAT: DOCUMENTARY

The production of the athlete is similar to the ʻDouble Narrativeʼ idea, but we show more training and cars on the production line. It's still a double narrative. Man vs. Machine is where the car competes with the athlete at a event that is similar to the athletes

• sport. Again, visually it will be very stylish, with lots of dark colour

tones to the image that gives off a sense of professionalism and

MINI MIDLANDS (working title) The Mini video will culminate all of the sports together into one short film. It starts up in a dark showroom. A Mini comes alive, drives out of the showroom and goes on a journey around the Midlands. We see the Mini drive through each sport and sees the athlete performing in their sport. Each of the athletes will acknowledge the Miniʼs presence and it will also drive past iconic landmarks within the Midlands. It shows the innocence, quirkiness and playfulness of Mini. It sets Mini aside from the BMW brand. It also shows the fun side to Mini through the use of brighter colours and faster paced edit. It will eventually conclude a final shot in the Olympics stadium in London.

It will be filmed in a very cinematic style but the colours will be much brighter and aesthetically, the image will appear quite vintage as the colours will remind you of Super 8 footage. The short film will bring out Miniʼs fun side to driving, showing each athlete in a bright and colourful atmosphere.
