WHO ARE CREATIVE INFORMATICS • Aim – To stimulate growth in the Creative Industries in & around Edinburgh utilising data and technology in new innovative ways • 9 Clusters have been awarded in the UK • Cluster is a joint partnership between

BACKGROUND • Funding has come from; • Arts Humanities Research Council (AHRC) • Scottish Funding Council (SFC) • City Region Deal • Project has funding for 4 and a half years until March 2023 • The project also has 5 research associates hosted by Edinburgh University and Edinburgh Napier

PROJECT AIMS • Support the Creative Industries in & around Edinburgh to become data driven until 2023 • Support through skills development via Creat ative Br Bridge ge • Provide start up funding through Reside ident E Entrepreneur projects • Build a community through our events • Helping organisations with challenges they face around data & technology with Cha hallenge Pr Proje jects • Support emerging leaders in the community via Co Conne nnect cted I Inno nnovators

CHALLENGE PROJECTS • Industry led projects answering challenges around data & technology • Up to 5 organisations chosen per round • Applications are open for local SMEs in response to the challenges for around 4 weeks • Successful Challenge Responder will be awarded the £20k to deliver the project • Challenge Responder will own the foreground IP created in the project • Challenge Holder will get a royalty free licence for up to 3 years for the IP created

CHALLENGE RESPONDER DATES • 21.08.20 21 2020 20 – Responder call opens via Creative Informatics newsletter and on the website • 02. 2.09.20 2020 20 – Challenge holder question and answer session for interested responders • 28.09.20 28 2020 20 – Call for responder closes, 5pm • 14. 14.10 10.2020 – Panel meets to select successful applicants, Challenge Holder is part of this panel. • 26 26.10.20 2020 20 – Challenge Responders informed of outcome application

BREAKOUT ROOMS • A chance to ask the Challenge Holder questions • Each Challenge Holder will have their own room • There will be a separate room for Challenge Project process questions • If you wish to ask questions to more than 2 Challenge Holders you can leave a room and Kam will allocate you to a new room • We aim to have the common question themes in a blog post by the 9 th of September
