About BILD

• BILD was founded in January 2007 by a group of successful Baltic

entrepreneurs with an extensive prior work experience in multinational companies, a unique set of research skills, management training backgrounds and work experiences gained at some of the world’s leading universities.

• The institute conducts management and leadership research and

provides executive education at the highest international standards.

• Dr. Modestas Gelbūda is a co‐founder and managing director of

the institute. He completed his PhD in International Management at AAU in Denmark, was invited visiting scholar at Stanford University, USA, and Uppsala University, Sweden. Most recently he worked at the London Business School (LBS).

The institute’s activities include:

• Custom programs for corporate clients with leading experts,

targeted at the top management teams.

• Open seminars with experienced senior faculty and global thought

leaders from the world’s leading business schools such as Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, London Business School and others.

• Collaborative projects with corporate clients helping them develop

new management principles and practices through carefully designed management experiments. These projects are carried out in collaboration with the world’s first Management Lab.

• Advanced Doctoral Program in social sciences and management

research, i.e. a set of research training seminars for Baltic doctoral students.

• BILD scholars have published, and guest edited or served on the editorial boards of the

leading international business journals such as Journal of International Management, Management International Review, European Management Review (EMR), an official research journal of the European Academy of Management (EURAM).
