significant. Deaths of Pacific Peoples age 75 and over are projected to increase from 38% in 2016 to 61% of all deaths by 2038.

Tāping pinga ‘a Maam Maama: a: Pa Pacific Li Life & Dea Death in in Adv Advanced nced Age Age

Aim: Research the end of life circumstances of Pacific people dying at > 75 year of age and experiences of family carers during end

• f life period and after bereavement

Using qualitative methods, we planned to: Interview 32 family carers and conduct 3 stakeholder focus group interviews and collect information on: Unmet needs, knowledge of publicly‐funded services, priorities for end

• f life care and enabling factors or barriers to meeting these priorities,

implications for health and social service providers and policy makers, and produce digital stories to extend the reach of the study findings in addition to community meetings, scientific conferences and publications.

• 31 participant interviews (Samoan, Tongan, Cook Is Maori & Other

Pacific)

• Four participant digital stories, and music video
• Preliminary data analysis
• Key findings: high levels of mobility and interactions with health

professionals and community groups, raise awareness, want to be with family, children, especially grandchildren

• Implications to inform culturally ‐and people‐centred service provision,

facilitate health communication, and develop training resources for family carers and professional staff, and connect families with end of life care services
