Personalized Learning Initiative

• GCS Provides devices for all schools in the

district, Grades 3-12

• Students permitted to use devices at school

and at home

• Yearly Technology Fee must be paid for

students to take devices home

• Devices must be charged at

home each night

• Chargers should stay at home
• Replacements for lost/stolen

Device Repairs

• Repair tickets are submitted to Dell through

the Media Center

• ONE accidental damage per year will be

covered by warranty

• Dell records repairs to devices by serial tag

number

• Lost or stolen devices are not covered

Expectations for Use

• Devices should be used for school

assignments only

• Device use during class should be at the

discretion of teachers

• Devices should not be left unattended

Expectations for Use

• The student should be the only person

using the device (no friends, sisters, etc.)

• Chargers will remain at home
• Students will care for the devices and

handle them responsibly

More Tips for Safe Use

• When it is at home, keep it in a backpack
• r on a table
• Be sure to handle the backpack carefully

and don’t leave it where it can be damaged

• Don’t pick at keys or casing
• Never close objects inside the device
• Keep the device away from food and drinks
