1911 Governor of Hong Kong Sir Lugard and the Vice Chancellor of HKU requested the Anglican Church in HK to establish its first Hall of Residence St John’s Hall in the Oxbridge model 1965 From St John’s Hall (male,1912) and St Stephen’s Hall (female) in 1956 Bishop R. O. Hall created St John’s College as the 1st Co-educational College of HKU with academic and residential tutors 2020 a full teaching College in HKU with academic staff and tutors working closely with residential tutors for holistic development of St Johnians
