Cognitive Dissonance • Beliefs Contradicted – New info • Emotional Response • Alarms – Threatened on a personal and emotional levels • Shut down – Disregard rational evidence – Contradiction of previously regarded truths
Our Actions New Cognitions • I can do this to counter-act that – I know I’m on a diet, but I can always exercise extra to work this off – I know these steps to security, but look at these SHINY toys!
