A Note About This Informational Session
In order to comply with the Illinois Ethics Act, the District may only provide factual information in order to clarify the upcoming building bond referendum. Administrative responses must be limited to factual information only and will not be persuasive in nature.

Voters residing within Center Cass School District 66 are being asked to indicate “yes” or “no” to the following question: Shall the Board of Education of Center Cass School District Number 66, DuPage County, Illinois, build and equip additions to, improve the sites, safety and security of and alter, repair and equip the Elizabeth Ide and Lakeview Junior High School Buildings, improve the sites, safety and security of and alter, repair and equip the Prairieview School Building and issue bonds of said School District to the amount of $12,910,000 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?

Ide Cafeteria/Gym combo Prairieview Multipurpose Room/Gym Prairieview students were able to go outside for recess 7 additional days than Ide students due to blacktop issues during the month. Additionally, for each “inside recess” day at Prairieview, students go to gym, while Ide students are in classrooms during recess every day because the gym is also the cafeteria. SLIDE 41 Didn’t the District just allow a bond to “roll off”?
Yes, the Board of Education intentionally allowed the prior bond to expire without asking for additional funds, which resulted in a reduction
- f property tax assessments for the past three years.
The reason the Board did this was to be systematic in creating a comprehensive study of our facility needs. The following chart shows the prior bond, along with the new referendum building bond if approved by the voters.
