  • There are separate male and female

changing and showering areas

  • This is part of Icelandic culture and is

partly because the springs are natural and therefore not kept clean with chemicals like our pools are.

  • You will be able to buddy up with a

friend and help each other out with towels for screens if it makes you feel more comfortable.

LUGGAGE

  • Luggage Allowance: 20kg per

person checked luggage + one piece of hand luggage (rucksack please)

  • Passports and money to be

kept in hand luggage (we’ll collect these on the coach)

  • Baggage labels for outward

journey only completed and attached.

  • No liquids, or sharp items in

hand luggage.

PASSPORTS & EHIC

  • Passports must be in hand luggage, will be collected by staff.
  • They will be kept in the hotel safe and distributed on the return

journey back to Britain.

  • EHIC - Iceland has a reciprocal arrangement with the UK

so these will be needed in case of any medical treatment (unless there’s a no-deal Brexit in which case they may not be valid)

  • Medical consent form – please complete and return

FOOD FOR THE JOURNEY

  • Snacks – cereal bars etc

(breakfast)

  • A water bottle (to use whilst in

Iceland)

  • You might want to bring a packed

lunch for later, and/or money to buy some at the airport, as our first meal provided is dinner in the evening.

  • The coach will be fitted with seatbelts, they must be worn at all

times.

SPENDING MONEY

  • Recommend approx. 10,000 ISK (about £70) – for drinks,

souvenirs, snacks and lunch on the first and last days.

  • All trip money is the responsibility of the student.
  • Purses & wallets should contain student name and hotel name

in case lost.

  • A warm coat
  • Waterproof (if above one is not)
  • Trip Hoody
  • Woolly hat, scarf, gloves
  • Sturdy, warm boots suitable for snow

(walking boots ideal)

  • Casual evening clothes but not lots
  • Trainers or other comfortable shoes
  • Layers of clothing, t-shirts, jumpers,

leggings etc. Enough for ‘just in case’ you get wet

  • Thermals if you have them but layers are

fine

  • Nightclothes.
  • Underwear, socks (lots of socks!).
  • Swimwear and towel
  • Toiletries
  • Sunglasses
  • Camera / phone
  • Any Medication (ensure you have told Ms

Hancock about this in writing)

  • Small rucksack essential

  • Carrier bags for dirty washing

WHAT TO BRING?

  • A travel plug - Europlug/Schuko-Plug (CEE types)
  • Get together with friends / people you might share with

to avoid bringing unnecessary items e.g. hairdryers the hotel rooms all have them.

  • Do not bring anything valuable, jewellery, ipads etc. If

you do so it is at your own risk.

SAFETY

Comprehensive risk assessments and procedures by both Rayburn Tours and Beverley High School / ERYC But we require sensible behaviour at all times, and for girls to be involved in

  • ngoing risk assessment – look after

each other and speak to staff. Airport – 3 groups of 10 students per staff member. There is the possibility of shopping if time allows – in groups of minimum 2 girls – with staff at one designated spot and a phone number for

  • emergencies. If you would

prefer your daughter to stay with an adult then please let us know.

BEHAVIOUR

  • Beverley High School has an

excellent reputation abroad.

  • Behaviour must be excellent all

week and at all times.

  • No one is allowed to drink under

the age of 18 by law.

  • No one is allowed to smoke.
  • School policy is that Parents and

Pupils will be asked to read carefully and sign a contract which they must adhere to.

PHONES

  • Being on a school trip means the same rules as school apply – but we are

happy for you to use phones within sensible boundaries

  • Taking pictures is fine (please be aware of your surroundings!) but

constant Snapchat etc is not – the time for social media (if you can’t be without it!) and home contact is on an evening please.

  • Be aware that not all members of the group use social media, or wish to

have their images posted online, additionally, many parents do not wish their child’s image / details posting for safety reasons so please post sensitively and only include yourself.

  • Any problems, as in school – you MUST see staff first before contacting

home, or posting anything online.

  • You are required to switch off and hand in phones before bed (school

policy) – they will be returned at breakfast

  • Students will have ID cards – keep them on you!
  • Rooming – complete a sheet
  • Please check we know any dietary requirements (including vegetarians)
  • Insurance details - please collect a copy if you wish. We use the standard

Rayburn Schools insurance, through Endsleigh.
