Open​ ​Content​ ​is​ ​the​ ​backend​ ​for​ ​digital​ ​publication.​ ​All​ ​content​ ​i​ ​collected​ ​and​ ​available​ ​from​ ​one​ ​location. Content​ ​is​ ​published​ ​online​ ​without​ ​any​ ​need​ ​for​ ​export,​ ​copying​ ​or​ ​import​ ​between​ ​different​ ​systems. Open​ ​Content​ ​manages​ ​any​ ​content​ ​independent​ ​of​ ​origin​ ​-​ ​which​ ​means​ ​anything​ ​from​ ​articles​ ​to​ ​images, video​ ​and​ ​metadata.​ ​The​ ​content​ ​(images,​ ​articles,​ ​videos​ ​etc)​ ​are​ ​stored​ ​in​ ​Amazon​ ​S3-buckets​ ​together with​ ​extremely​ ​fast​ ​access​ ​to​ ​selected​ ​parts​ ​of​ ​content​ ​and​ ​metadata​ ​via​ ​a​ ​very​ ​fast​ ​index.​ ​OC​ ​takes advantage​ ​of​ ​Open​ ​Source​ ​technology​ ​with​ ​Solr​ ​as​ ​base.​ ​Solr​ ​is​ ​a​ ​very​ ​widespread,​ ​incredibly​ ​fast, search-platform​ ​which​ ​in​ ​turn​ ​is​ ​built​ ​on​ ​Apache​ ​Lucene.
