Mobility for individuals:

1) ERASMUS + KA1 Mobility project for higher education and staff. 2) ERASMUS + KA1 Mobility project for adult education staff - job shadowing

WHO WE ARE

Work’n’study does not issue scholarships, instead we supply services such as Italian language courses, accommodation and internships. Customer care and assistance is of course included in abundance.​ ​Work’n’study stems from the need to offer people new opportunities for personal enrichment and sharing with others.

MISSION AND OUTCOMES

Our philosophy develops from real-life experience abroad, through which we became aware of the invaluable significance of interrelation and exchange with people from different cultures. This means sharing with others, learning to respect others. This is the reason why we are eager to put our knowledge at the service of those who, like us, believe in the journey as a personal development. We would like to help STUDENTS AND TEACHERS to develop their skills through work experience; to improve their use of Italian as a means of communication in class and in everyday situations. ​Under

this ​Key Action​ are expected to bring positive and long-lasting effects on the participants and participating organisations involved, as well as on the policy systems in which such activities are framed. As regards ​students, trainees, apprentices and young people,​ the mobility activities supported under this Key Action are meant to produce the following outcomes:

• increased sense of initiative and entrepreneurship
• increased self-empowerment and self-esteem
• improved foreign language competences
• enhanced intercultural awareness
• increased motivation for taking part in future (formal/non-formal) education or training after

the mobility period abroad As regards ​staff, youth workers and professionals involved in education, training and youth,​ the mobility activities are expected to produce the following outcomes:

• improved competences, linked to their professional profiles (teaching, training, youth work,

etc.)

• broader understanding of practices, policies and systems in education, training or youth work

across countries

• increased capacity to trigger changes in terms of modernisation and international opening

within their educational organisations

• greater understanding of interconnections between formal and non-formal education,

vocational training and the labour market respectively

• better quality of their work and activities in favour of students, trainees, apprentices, pupils,

adult learners, young people and volunteers

• greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity

LOCATION

We are located in Seregno; a cozy and homely town at the foot of the Alps between Milan and Lake Como. Brianza, the area where Seregno is located, is also known as ‘The Green Lung’, for being lush and luxuriant. You could ​ride a bike​ and in a few minutes find yourself surrounded by green, leafy wilderness​. Seregno’s size makes it a ​people-friendly town​ and therefore an ideal place for a first experience

• abroad. You will integrate yourself easily into this little town. You can go to the bakery and enjoy

artisanal bread or for a leisurely jog in the park far from the urban smog. Seregno is a ​peaceful, safe little town​ where residents take life at a leisurely pace. Seregno is characterised by rather cold winters (average temperature 5 C in January) and warm summers (average temperature 28 C in July). However, despite being little, Seregno is an idyllic place which offers all the comforts of a big city.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION

➔ TRANSPORT:​ Work’n’study has bikes available to students and teachers for daily use, (a deposit is required). The transfer from the airport (Milan Malpensa, Linate or Bergamo Orio al Serio) is included in the package. ➔ ACCOMMODATION: ​Work’n’study has got a private residence called “Corte del Fuin”. It is located above the reception of the language school and it is just a stone’s throw from the town centre. We also have several other alternatives available. ➔ ITALIAN COURSE:​ in our school we teach from Monday to Friday (also Saturdays, if necessary) all year round and all levels from absolute beginner to proficient students. We have a maximum class size of 12 students.

➔ WORK:​ we consider the students’ background (sectors such as hospitality, services, industrial, social, craftsmanship, agricultural) and select companies within Seregno and neighbouring towns where students can gain optimal work experience for their individual circumstance. ➔ ASSISTANCE:​ Work’n’study creates a feel-good environment to promote integration into language classrooms, workplaces and social gatherings. Our coordinators, who speak Italian, English and Spanish, will help you integrate yourself into Italian culture, adapt to the new environment and much more:

• 24/7 support in sickness and assistance in emergency;
• information about what to do in and around Seregno in your free time;
• information on how to study in Seregno and the job market;
• things you can do with other students, such as cultural tourism (museums, theatres,

etc.) hang out with them at night, etc. ➔ DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATE ASSISTANCE:​ We will provide a Certificate of attendance from the workplace with a description of training content and time input - Certificate of attendance for the Italian course. ➔ EXTRA SERVICES: ​Work’n’study can also organise trips around Italy (at an extra cost) and we can also arrange any kind of vehicle rental (car, van, scooter). We also offer a Taxi service.

Work’n’study, as a private school, does not follow the European Community Payments Modalities. As soon as the Erasmus Grant is approved, the total amount needs to be paid in order to book all the services requested and the dates of the training period. Insurance is left up to your sending organisation/institution. We strongly advise that you have medical and travel insurance for the duration of your time abroad, including travel to and from Italy.
