What is BLaST? • Student-focused program to – Enhance integration of research and teaching in biomedicine in Alaska – Enhance integration of rural locations into the biomedical research training environment – Increase diversity (with a focus on rural students) of undergraduate students interested in biomedical research – Ultimately, increase diversity of the biomedical workforce
