Call to Worship
(our ancient writings usher us into this ritual)
Why do we praise Christ? Based on Zechariah 3:17ff The I AM, your God, is with you! A victorious warrior! He will exult over you with joy He will be quiet in His love He will rejoice over you with singing! “I will gather those who grieve Look and see, At that time I will deal with all your oppressors I will save the lame and gather the outcast I will turn their shame into praise and renown in all the earth At that time I will bring you in Even at the time when I gather you together Indeed, I will give you renown and praise among all the peoples of the earth When I restore your fortunes before your eyes” This is what the I AM says.
SLIDE 4
The Lord be with you And also with you. Lifu up your hearts We lifu them up to God.
SLIDE 5
Psalm 25 A Psalm of David. To You, I AM, I lifu up my soul O my God, in You I trust Do not let me be ashamed Do not let my enemies celebrate over me In fact, none who wait for You will be ashamed The wantonly treacherous will be ashamed Make me know Your ways, I AM Teach me Your paths Lead me in Your truth and teach me For You are the God of my salvation
SLIDE 6
For You I wait all the day Remember, I AM, Your compassion and Your lovingkindnesses For they are from ancient times Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions According to Your lovingkindness remember me For the sake of Your goodness, I AM! Good and upright is the I AM Therefore He instructs sinners in the way He leads the humble in justice He teaches the humble His way All the paths of the I AM are lovingkindness and truth

Invocation
(we call on God to create this time of worship by the Holy Spirit)
How Great Is Our God The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty Let all the Earth rejoice All the Earth rejoice He wraps himself in light And darkness tries to hide And trembles at His voice Trembles at His voice How great is our God, sing with me How great is our God, and all will see How great, how great is our God
SLIDE 8
Age to age He stands And time is in His hands Beginning and the end The Godhead Three in One Father Spirit Son The Lion and the Lamb The Lion and the Lamb How great is our God, sing with me How great is our God, and all will see How great, how great is our God Name above all names Worthy of our praise My heart will sing How great is our God
SLIDE 9
Above All Above all powers, above all kings Above all nature and all created things Above all wisdom and all the ways of man You were here before the world began Above all kingdoms, above all thrones Above all wonders the world has ever known Above all wealth and treasures of the earth There's no way to measure what you're worth Crucified, laid behind the stone You lived to die, rejected and alone Like a rose, trampled on the ground You took the fall and thought of me Above all
SLIDE 10
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus O soul are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There's light for a look at the Savior And life more abundant and free Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace Through death into life everlasting He passed, and we follow Him there Over us sin no more hath dominion For more than conquerors we are His word shall not fail you, He promised Believe Him and all will be well Then go to a world that is dying His perfect salvation to tell

Confession
(we approach God, repenting from sin)
Heidelberg Catechism, Question 29-30 Question 29: Why is the Son of God called Jesus, which means, a Savior? Answer: Because He saves and delivers us from our sins; and also, because we should not seek, and will never find, salvation in any other. Question 30: Do those people believe in Jesus as the only Savior, if they also seek their salvation and benefit from saints, from their own works, or from anywhere else? Answer: They do not; for although they claim Him in words, they still deny Jesus as the only deliverer and Savior by their works; for one of these things must be true: either Jesus is not a complete Savior or all things necessary for salvation are found by true faith in Him.

James 1:19-21 This you know, my beloved brethren Everyone must be quick to hear Slow to speak and slow to anger For the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness In humility receive the word implanted Which is able to save your souls.
SLIDE 13
Dear Father, We confess the filthiness and wickedness of our anger, and the sins of not listening to others and of talking too quickly. Forgive us. We humble

Let us bless the Lord! Praise Him with highest praise! What sort of church are we seeking God to make us? Acts 2:42-45 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

Sermon (we hear from God)
John 17:20–26
20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in Me through
their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in you, that they also may be in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me. 22 The glory You gave Me I have given to them, that they may be one even as We are one, 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may become perfectly one, so the cosmos will know You sent me and loved them even as You loved Me.
24 Father, I also desire for those You gave Me to be with Me where I AM, to see
My glory, which You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know You, I know You,
and these know that You sent Me. 26 I made known to them Your Name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God!
