Materials Needed

• 4-function calculator – You will use this EVERYDAY!

*VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

(scientific calculators are not allowed in 7th grade!)

• Binder just for Math is preferred not required!
• A-day/ B-day backpacks??
• Plenty of paper and pencils to last them

throughout the year!

(pen is not accepted on graded assignments!) Lots of buttons BEST!

Computer Usage In/Out of Class

• Clever.com – (this is new website!)- how we will access BIM, Khan
• bigideasmath.com– (BIM) online Textbook – used daily as HW, CW,

Quizzes, Study Guides, Tests. (many used last year)

• Khanacademy.org – great extra practice resource (videos, tutorials, practice

problems) Great for use at home!

Internet At Home?

• Please let me know If you do not have access to internet and a

computer/tablet at home.

Weekly Homework/Participation Grade

• All students start each week with a 100, HW/Participation grade!!
• Each missing paper homework is 20 points off L
• Each time a student does not follow the MMS Honor Code/Jag Pledge

(minor in-class infractions), OR if they do not put their computers away correctly, 10 points deducted L

• If a student continues to not follow the Honor Code, parents will be contacted.

Jagmarks - graded

• Students will complete a Jagmark during their full block.
• Students MUST keep up with this JM page from the time it is given

to them until it is finished. (10 questions per page – 2 per day)

• All work and answers must be written on the pag to receive full credit.
• We do every problem together after they have first tried it on their own.

Compacted Math – 4th Block only

• This is a high school credit class!
• Students MUST maintain an 85 or higher to stay in the class.
• It is called “compacted” because it combines 7th and 8th grade

Math into one course!

• Students have a calendar of the month. This is helpful if they are

absent from class.

• I do not tutor. Please encourage your student to ask all questions

during class, before school starts (I am here at 7:45!), and during break (in btw 1st and 2nd block everyday).
