Isipingo River decontamination

Citadel Biocat + provided an effective tool for restoring the “Isipingo River”, which also was practical and affordable for the South African government. The amount of oxygen in the river had dropped to less than 3 mg/l, which is 50% less

  • xygen than is needed to keep

fish and other wildlife alive.

Citadel BioCat+ was introduced upstream from the industrial/residential area at a rate of eight gallons per day. The (DO level) increased 93% in four months.

 Increased DO from <0.5 to >7.0  Eliminated mal-odours and septic appearance.  Lowered total coli forms from 51,000 to <50.
