Peter Heals a Lame Beggar 3 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Acts 3:1

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in

every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7And the peace of God, which transcends all

understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 6-7

7Give all your worries and cares to God, for

he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

2Now a man who was lame from birth was

being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.

3 When he saw Peter and John

about to enter, he asked them for money. Acts 3:2-3

38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good

measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your

• lap. For with the measure you use, it will be

17Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the

LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. Proverbs 19:17

4Peter looked straight at him, as did John.

Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not

have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped

him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

10 they recognized him as the same man

who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

11While the man held on to Peter and John,

all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. Acts 3:4-11

God’s tangible love matters.

37 “Then the righteous will answer him,

‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and

invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you,

whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Matthew 25: 34-40
