Benefits we have seen • Increased attendance from parents • Parents more engaged/ asking questions • Parents more likely to receive a more balanced view from young people- the internet isn’t just doom and gloom! • Strategies proposed by young people themselves which gives parents greater confidence that it will work for them • An understand of why young people exhibit certain behaviours online • Children WANT to talk to their parents about their online world

Other things to consider • Make online safety tips/ news part of weekly conversation, not just a ‘once yearly’ event • Add a feature into the newsletter on a regular basis • Update online safety websites and games onto your school webpage • Consider regular online safety assemblies/ circle time • Put up posters around the school/ organisation • Capitalise on current news and events- arrange school meetings for the times that parents are most concerned
