When the practice is open, patients can be booked in by their registered practice’s receptionist to book an appointment at the weekend plus hub. Patients can also telephone the Practice hub directly to make an appointment with the Extended Hours period. Appointments can be booked when the practice is closed by the patient telephoning NHS 111.

• Supporting practices to send text messages to patients advertising

Christmas access arrangements.

• A letter has been sent to all GP Practices restating the

expectations of service delivery across the Christmas period and to provide them with information on community services available to enable effective signposting of patients (Appendix A). We have requested that this information is also made available to patients via the practice website or noticeboard.

• Pharmacy Opening hours over the Christmas period have been

circulated to practices.(Appendix B)
