Proposed Project ▪ Privately owned and operated ▪ Connects Dallas and Houston via Bryan/College Station in 90 minutes ▪ 240 mph service every 30 minutes ▪ $15B estimated cost with no federal or state funding

Current Status ▪ Final Environmental Impact Statement expected in 2019 with construction beginning soon after ▪ Right of Way acquisition and design in progress ▪ Texas Central continues to finalize plans and coordinate with transportation agencies and local governments

Why MOU? ▪ Support coordination of planning, development and operation of this High Speed Rail service ▪ City of Houston and Gulf Coast Rail District entered into MOU’s in 2016

MOU Tasks ▪ No exchange of funding ▪ Coordination on siting and planning activities ▪ Interconnectivity of HSR station to other transit facilities and destinations ▪ Incorporate HSR in RTP
