STEP #1:

  • YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM YOUR COACH WITH

NOTIFICATION OF YOUR SKATE TIMES AND LOCATIONS

Things to note:

  • Canskate will not be running. Skate Canada may approve it for

September.

STEP #2:

  • REGISTER (ONLY FOR SESSIONS AS INSTRUCTED BY YOUR COACH)
  • SESSIONS IN JUNE WILL RUN MUCH LIKE TICKET ICE FOR REGISTRATION.

FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOUR COACH GIVES YOU A SKATE TIME OF 1H, 1.5H,

  • ETC. , YOU WILL REGISTER FOR THE SESSION THAT PERTAINS TO YOUR

SKATE TIME ON THE BSC WEBSITE

  • SUMMER INFORMATION IS STILL IN THE PLANNING STAGE AND YOU WILL

BE NOTIFIED WHEN IT IS DONE.

PARENT & SKATER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and understand both the BSC & Skate Canada Nova Scotia ‘Return to

Play’ document as well as the ‘Reopening Guideline’ document for the facility at which you are skating. This can be found on the BSC website or the facility website.

  • Sign and submit your Assumption of Risk Waiver to

bedfordskatingclub@gmail.com

  • Sign and submit your weekly ‘Health Screening Waiver’at the beginning of each

week that your skater is on the ice to bedfordskatingclub@gmail.com. The only needs to be submitted once per week before your skater gets on the ice.

  • Pack a small, neatly organized bag to have at the boards. Contents will be

noted in the next slide.

Please Note:

  • If possible, get hard skate guards if you do not have them. This will make it

possible to walk around in your skates. Particularly from outdoors to the ice surface.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR BAG:

  • Face Mask (mandatory)
  • Tissues (ziplock bag recommended for dirty tissues)
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Water Bottle
  • Gloves
  • A pen for signing into the facility

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Masks, gloves and water bottles are not permitted to be used on

consecutive days without being washed

  • There is no lost and found and you are not permitted to re-enter

the facility. Do not leave anything behind!!

WARM UP OPTIONS

  • We recommend that skaters put their skates on at home, in the car
  • r outside the rink if weather permits. You are allowed to put your

skates on indoors if needed at some facilities. Please refer to your facility guidelines for confirmation.

  • All belongings must be left in the car except your ‘on ice bag’.

ENTERING THE RINK

  • ALL facility guidelines must be followed. We have a zero tolerance policy.
  • Parents are not permitted in the rink
  • Masks should be worn when entering and exiting the rink but are not

mandatory on ice.

  • It is good practice to clean your hands before and after touching common

surfaces to minimize the spreading of germs. For example, when you enter the rink and touch the door.

  • The skater must sign in when entering the rink (all ages)
  • The skater must answer the symptom questionnaire with your coach. This is

available on the BSC website.

  • The skater must enter and exit using the wayfinding arrows provided by the

facility.

  • The skater must maintain a 6 foot physical distance from others at all times.

ON THE ICE

  • Skater are to get on the ice and keep their guards in their ‘on ice

bag’ or on their section of the boards

  • Their coach will notify the skater of their section of the boards

where they will keep their things and go to rest, get a drink, etc.

  • Skaters are permitted to use the entire ice but MUST maintain a 6

foot physical distance

  • There will be no group lessons
  • There will be no stroking sessions

IF YOU HAVE TO….

  • Take your gloves off to blow your nose.
  • Blow your nose
  • Immediately dispose of the tissues. Preferably in your own

‘provided from home’ ziplock bag. If not, in the facility garbage can in which case you will have to use the wayfinding arrows for exit and re-entry. This could be time consuming.

  • You then have to sanitize your hands.
  • You can now put your gloves back on.
  • PLEASE USE THE WASHROOM BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME

TO LIMIT USE AT THE FACILITY

  • If you have to use the facility washrooms, you MUST use

the wayfinding arrows in the facility. In some facilities you can only walk in one direction.

  • Exit and enter the ice as directed by the facility signage.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

  • If a skater cannot skate due to illness related

to COVID-19, they will receive a credit to use

  • n a later session. If they do not intend to

skate again, they will receive a refund (unsure

  • f this)
  • If a session is cancelled by the club due to

COVID-19, the skater will receive a full refund (unsure of this also)

COVID-19 PROCEDURES

“If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 at SCNS/BSC , our procedure includes:

  • Stop skating sessions and advise the rink so they

can disinfect areas as needed;

  • Send skaters, coaches, and volunteers home

who came in close contact with the individual; remind them to self-monitor (or self-isolate if they have a high-risk household resident), and inform them a SCNS/BSC representative will be in touch with further information

  • Contact 811, proceed as directed, and

communicate with coaches as appropriate.”

  • A SKATER CANNOT SKATE WITHOUT HAVING THIS WAIVER SIGNED

AND SUMBITTED

  • You can find a copy of the waiver attached to this email or on

the BSC Website.

  • Please sign this waiver and send it back to:

  • The subject line MUST read ‘Waiver, Skater Name, Coaches

Name, Club Name’

  • How to send your waiver:
  • Print, sign, scan, and email.
  • Print, sign, take a photo of the entire document clearly, and

email.

  • Electronically sign it and email. You must have an electronic
  • signature. You CANNOT type your name and send the

document
