Student Schedule:

• Student learning will take place Monday - Friday: Schedules for whole group/small group synchronous and

asynchronous learning will be created for students, dependent on grade level.

• Staff are able to be onsite for the purpose of planning and delivering online instruction.

Fewer Platforms Grades 4K-2: Seesaw Grades 3-12: Canvas What is Happening Now? Elementary planning teams are developing priority standards utilizing current instructional materials for content area at each grade level, including encore. Staff will unpack the standards and craft lessons. Coaches and support staff at all levels will be working side-by-side to support teachers and students. Staff planning teams are examining the critical shifts from the spring experience and planning the design and professional development for all staff around those shifts.

Next Steps: Instructional Planning While the Instructional Staff have been working since June, they have been awaiting the recommendation of a fall model in order to finish their work. They will now fully develop the virtual instruction model, including the following components:

• Student relationship-building plans and expectations
• Instructional framework
• Communication protocols, including face-to-face interaction expectations
• Content delivery
• Curriculum materials and learning design
• Assessment protocols
• Platform-specific expectations and information (Seesaw 4K-2, Canvas 3-12)

• Student Social-Emotional Learning and Mental Health Support

Possible Pre-K -12 Emergency Daytime Services

PreK - 12 students may be able to receive emergency daytime services dependent upon building capacity and safety measures.

What does this mean? We hope to be able to deliver needed services for students and families onsite during virtual learning.

The Coulee Regional Virtual Academy (CRVA) is an entirely online experience for K-12 students, regardless of the type

• f instruction being delivered in the district (face to face, blended, remote because of COVID-19 closures or

restrictions), offering an alternative to those families who are seeking a consistent, fully online experience. Students who enroll in the CRVA program would remain members of their resident school district, allowing them to maintain a sense of community and belonging in their resident schools, along with the ability to participate in co-curricular

Tentative Safety & Infection Mitigation Strategies

Cleaning Protocol Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g., playground equipment, door handles, sink handles) within the school as much as possible. Increase cleaning frequency for restrooms, showers and locker rooms, and / or consider design changes. Visitors / Volunteers Limit any nonessential visitors, volunteers, and activities involving external groups or organizations as possible – especially with individuals who are not from the local geographic area (e.g., community, town, city, county). Classroom Capacity Utilize requirements from the La Crosse County Health Department regarding classroom capacity. Maintain six feet physical distancing from others. Discourage direct person to person contact (i.e., no hand shaking, no high fives, no hugs) Cohort Restrictions Interactions among groups of students will be limited as much as possible utilizing requirements from the La Crosse County Health Department School specific protocols will be developed to minimize mixing of students. Student & Staff Face Coverings Face coverings required for students and staff. Cloth face coverings should not be placed on: --Children younger than 2 years old --Anyone who has trouble breathing

Tentative Safety & Infection Mitigation Strategies

Field Trips & Assemblies Cancel field trips, student assemblies, and other large gatherings. Consider cancelling or rescheduling activities and events such as special performances, school-wide parent meetings, or spirit nights. Symptom Screening Since it is not feasible to conduct health screening given the setting:

• Provide parent education about the importance of monitoring symptoms and staying home while ill through classroom

applications and other district messaging.

• Use existing school outreach systems to provide text and email reminders to staff and families to check for symptoms
• f household members in the morning and evening

Hygiene Practices All students and employees will be required to frequently wash hands with soap and warm water (including at the beginning of the day, before lunch, after lunch, and at the end of the day). Hand sanitizer can be used if no access to soap and water. All students and employees shall follow proper cough and sneeze etiquette. Response Plan for Illness Specific response plans are in development. Ensure isolation and timely removal of any students or staff who are displaying symptoms. Follow cleaning protocols to disinfect areas used by a person who is ill. Common Areas, Shared Classrooms, Gyms, Playgrounds, etc. School specific protocols will be developed to minimize mixing of students outside of established cohorts and mitigate risks associated with use of common areas.

Site Specific Planning

In addition to district policies and procedures, each site will determine how context-specific factors will impact operational needs. A playbook for each building will be created to help site teams of administrators, staff, and students to develop these protocols, including:
