- Large Group/Classroom
- Curriculum is presented in a classroom setting and is designed to provide students with the attitudes, skills,
and knowledge appropriate for their developmental level.
- Small Group
- An intervention that counselors can implement to address specific student needs- academic or
social/emotional
- Closing the GAP
- Address important issues of equity and student achievement

Core Curriculum: Program Goal
Core Curriculum SMART Goal By June 2017, the number referrals related to peer mistreatment will decrease by, approximately, at least 10% from 79 in the 2015-2016 to 71 in the 2016- 2017 school year.

Closing the Gap: Program Goal
Closing the Gap SMART Goal By June 2017, at least 80% of 6th grade students, participating in Homework Club, who received first quarter grades of C or lower in core academic classes will pass all academic classes and increase at least one academic grade by fourth quarter.
SLIDE 8 Closing the Gap Group
- 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Homework Clubs- GAP GROUP
- Students targeted for homework club are identified for previous low grades
and/or low SOL scores
- Interventions include: Communication and assistance with staff members to
address areas of concern, work completion, and general study and
- rganizational habits. Two staff members weekly helping to support student
work completion/coordinate students meeting with other teachers.
- Additional staff member support with students in the classroom to assist with
work completion/understanding of curriculum.

Small Group: Program Goal
Small Group SMART GOAL By June 2017, the number of 8th grade students who have missed more than 15% of school during the 1st and 2nd quarter of the 2016-2017 school year will decrease their absences and/or tardies by 5%.

- Attendance
- Targeted 6th/7th Grade Students- Students who missed 8 or
more days over the first quarter of the year.
- Once a week group
- Lessons will include: study skills, organization, goal setting,
responsible decision making
