Motivation

  • Study of small Solar System bodies
  • Focus on the stellar occultation technique
  • Focus on big data

Be ready for the LSST

Basic tasks

  • Metadata info download
  • Identification of known Solar System bodies
  • Download frames of interest
  • Astrometry
  • Orbit refinement
  • Prediction of stellar occultations

Comments

  • Back-end codes exist!
  • Procedures tested on DES images (more than 4.2M CCDs or ~67K pointings

from NOV2012 to FEB2016).

  • Small body search: from 6 months to less than 1 day for the above data.
  • All known TNOs/Centaurs in these images went through the pipeline

(Astrometry and occultation predictions to transneptunian and centaur

  • bjects observed within the dark energy survey – under internal review by

the collaboration).

  • Implementation of the codes in the context of the SSSO platform is ongoing

(~60% implemented). http://www.linea.gov.br
