INTRODUCTION

The company has supplied pipes for major subsea pipelines namely the 250km 28” North Sumatera - Singapore pipeline and the 160km 32” South Sumatera - WestJava (SSWJ) ll pipeline. SEAPI was established since 1996 and start it’s commercial product by july 1999. SEAPI is licensed under API (American Petroleum Institute) No : 5L-0374 On February 2001, SEAPI signed on agreement with TENARIS, one of the largest world pipe producers. The agreement involved management assistance, technical assistance and marketing

assistance. This agreement was ended by 2003.

As indicated by its name, SEAPI is designed to service major customers in South East Asia Region.

Quality Assurance

SEAPI Plant equipped with a strict quality system and modern production facilities in order to be able to produce world class standard for large diameter pipes. In order to secure high quality product, several quality control tests are under taken from the beginning to the end of production process such as : visual Inspection; Chemical Analysis; Hardnes Test; Tensile Test; Bend Test; Impact Test; Hydrostatic Test; X-ray Test; which will ensure customer confidence. In addition to the convantional testing we can carry out selective test to assure the desired product quality. To anticipate and meet fast growing global demand of large diameter steel pipes meant for critical application in the petroleum, oil and natural gas sectors, refinering and fertilizer, SEAPI quality system has been conforming to international accepted standards laid down by American Petroleum Institute (API) for Q1 Specification and international Standard Organitation (ISO).
