#1 Consumer Satisfaction Survey

What’s happened since then?

#1 Consumer Satisfaction survey:

  • COVID delay: Decision to hold off on survey due to COVID causing

service delivery changes and interruption to employment models throughout the state.

  • Survey development: Started and decided on 10 questions. Was

working with DHS Contracts to create an RFP.

  • Was referred to contractor who had a more comprehensive plan for

this survey.

  • Opportunity to invest in this survey using funds that were not used

for traveling to Quarterly meeting. Currently needs discussion.

#2: Realign committees and Quarterly meetings

A-E: Convene committees based on the workgroups and responsibilities of the Council, Recommendation and Evaluation, Policy, Legislative, Consumer needs and satisfaction survey, membership recruitment, Outreach and partnerships. F: develop written charters for each committee G: revise by-laws to reflect new structure H: focus quarterly meetings on new SRC committees and group work

What’s happened since then?

#2 Realign Committees and Quarterly meetings:

  • Committees have been re-established and are meeting regularly
  • Charters with workgroups have been developed for each committee
  • Legislative committee has not been fully developed This was to be started

later in 2020 (now) and is appropriate to put some energy into as there are many legislative opportunities around advocacy for VR budget and metrics due to COVID changes.

  • Outreach Committee and Evaluation and Recommendation Committee has

no chair

  • By-laws have been revised
  • Quarterly meetings have had to be reimagined in a virtual setting and we

are still getting used to this format and the limitations it presents.

What’s happened since then?

#3 Strengthen Membership:

  • The need to develop guidelines outlining expectations is addressed in the

by-laws as well as the NCSRC publications that have come out in the last

  • year. This could be defined more clearly and simply and be part of the

membership packet to be signed at the application phase.

  • Due to COVID, 1:1 orientation has not happened with new members from

Feb 2020. New member training will be offered in Sept 2020 via virtual platform, for Feb and Aug 2020 new members.

  • The SRC Coordinator has collaborated with the Office of Multicultural,

Equity and Inclusion VR manager as well as the Governor’s office around recruiting diverse members and has several contacts and new applications from people of color, LGBTQ community, and consumers of VR.

#4: Strengthen year-round legislative advocacy

What’s happened since then?

#4 Strengthen year-round Legislative Advocacy Committee:

  • In February 2020, Elisha Kirsch (Vice chair) along with the SRC

Coordinator and 2 other council members went to the Capitol to educate and inform House and Senate leaders about VR services and distributed several Annual Reports. Some appointments were made with representatives and their staff.

  • Several letters were written and sent on behalf of SRC supporting VR

funding and waivers due to COVID changes to RSA and Betsy Devos.

  • The Policy, Budget, and Legislative committee has not yet addressed

legislative action yet, but are ready and open to starting ASAP.

  • Development of training and year-round advocacy activities has not

been realized yet.

What’s next?

Consumer Satisfaction Survey: need to decide on using money unused from travel on new survey contractor and model.

  • Discussion: How much money was saved? Can we use it? Do we need

RSA Prior authorization? What is the process for DHS Contracts to do the vetting process? Will we continue to meet virtually for how long and save how much money?

  • Partners in this conversation are members of the policy, budget and

legislative committee and VR admin members that also serve in this committee.

Strengthen membership: (Outreach)

  • New member orientation and yearly trainings. Next one is Sept 2020.
  • Mentorships? Who wants to be a mentor and what does that look

like?

  • Outreach committee is undergoing changes with membership and VR
