BrainHi, a company based on artificial intelligence, was the first Puerto Rican startup to enter the prestigious accelerator “Y Combinator” in Silicon Valley. It received $500,000 in funds.

INSU Health Design developed a cooling system to preserve and protect medicines for biomedical patients. INSU was selected to participate in the Bravo Family Foundation’s program Rising Entrepreneurs, which provides mentorship por 16 weeks and $30,000 to continue developing the product.

Historical increase in patents:

• In two years, the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology

Transfer of the UPR has developed 26 new patents for a total of 98.

• These patents have an economic and social impact on the Island.
• The new patents are aimed at cancer prevention, sciences and art of

scuba diving, and capsules to make agriculture possible on planet Mars.
