JPO CHALLENGES

“Nothing major, only the matter of adapting to the type of work.“ “Lack of work. Many of my assignments given are merely to copy paste documents, file documents in folders, and compile notes from other departments.” * “the first 5-6 were extremely challenging as I did no have a direct supervisor. While I am happy with the new supervisor that joined in June/July, I feel that I would be in a much better position to learn had the program started later while the supervisor was on board.”

RECOMMENDATIONS TO IMPROVE 4TH BATCH JPO PROGRAMME

“Ensure input into the TORs from current and previous JPOs especially on the location of the JPO due to the knowledge available on different departments.” “I suggest they have more support before traveling to their duty stations” “Ensure selection of departments that enable JPO career development” “The core operational value of the UN is in the field. That is where the real training/learning experience takes place. “
