BUPRENORPHINE PRESCRIPTION SURVEY

Takeaways: There are not enough prescribers in the community who have an “x” certification AND who also take Medi-Cal More education for prescribers needed:  Benefits of prescribing buprenorphine for both addiction and pain management  Provide physicians with avenue to receive their “X” license A robust referral service is needed:  When prescribing buprenorphine for addiction, the patient will become long term. Many prescribers do not have the capacity for this type of patient.  A list of all area recovery treatment providers should be given/promoted to all prescribers
