  • We are a school of choice for our students who all live in the

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and serve a diverse population

  • 70% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch
  • 30% of our students have an IEP
  • Our teachers deliver daily, live, synchronous online instruction that is

designed to engage our students and provide a sense of community.

  • Our format promotes the key themes of digital citizenship
  • Current enrollment is approximately 5,800 students in grades K-12

S ELECTION: Candidates, Timeline, and Procedures

1. August – Cumulative grade point averages pulled with 3.4 or higher. 2. Invites sent to students via school email (cc parents) first week of school. Approx. 335 students. 3. S tudents complete Candidate Form and essay (within the first 2 weeks of school). 4. The NHS faculty council takes time to review applications and essays. 5. By October 1st students are chosen following the pillars of NHS (97 students). 6. Induction is done online within 2 weeks after students chosen.

administration within the school.

adviser, co-adviser and NHS

Written Documentation—Inductee announcements and the conferring of

membership can be completed by publishing written documents on school websites and/or sent via email. Affirmation of membership can be collected via a form with signature from each inductee.

Audio/ Visual Recordings—Announcements and membership pledges can

be pre-recorded and distributed virtually.

Virtual Meeting or Live Streaming—A virtual meeting or livestreamed

event can allow multiple inductees to participate in a live ceremony.
