SAMPLE ITINERARY: DAY 1: Tuesday, March 27th 5:30 A.M. Students Report to School Bags will be checked by Chaperones Students should bring bagged lunch to eat en route 6:00 A.M. Buses will Depart for Washington D.C. 12:00 Noon – Approximate Arrival Time in Washington D.C.
Dinner: Carmines: Washington DC Madame Tussauds Wax Museum Check into Hotel: Approximately 9:30 P.M.
Day Two – Wednesday, March 28th - Dress Up Day 6:00 A.M. Wake Up 7:00-8:00 A.M. Breakfast at Hotel 9:00 A.M. Group Photo Capitol Tour Lunch: Capitol Dining Room Holocaust Museum World War II Memorial Jefferson, MLK and FDR Memorials 7:30 Dinner/Dance w/DJ at Hotel

Day Three – Thursday, March 29 6:30 A.M. ROOM CARDS***** (NEW POLICY) Room cards will be distributed a different way this year. In the past we have had many problems getting our medication forms and medication for students handed in on time. Thus….We have changed our policy!!!!! Room cards will be distributed by Mrs. Camilli once the medication form and medication have been handed in. Each student will receive his/her individual card. Dates will be set up for you to bring your medication form and medication to school. There will be three (3) different dates for you to choose from. These dates will be January 29, 30, 31. Times will be sent home via email. All medication and forms need to be handed in by these dates. When you bring in the forms/medication you will be given a card for your child. These are specially designated cards with your child’s name printed on in. Only using this card can students form a room group with his/her friends. These are special cards and can not be duplicated or substituted. Rooms will be only be made when the medication forms have been turned in and your child has received a

CELL PHONE POLICY AGREEMENT All students and parents must read and sign the “cell phone release” form that is being handed out tonight. We will need you or your child to return this release form to either Mrs. Klock or Mrs. Pepe before they will be allowed to attend the Washington D.C. trip. Forms will be available on line. Cell Phone Policy Agreements are due by March 16th. This form and signatures by both the child and parent are mandatory for attending our trip and no child will be allowed on the bus without a form on file.
**New Drop Off Procedures for the morning of the trip March 27, 2018** Check In Check in will take place at the two entrances on the Fireman’s Field side of SMS Students with last names A-K will check in near the cafeteria Students with the last name L-Z will check in at entrance near the auditorium Parents must come in with their students to check in We will take attendance at check in We will verify that the cell phone agreement is on file for each student at that time Bag Check Once students check in, parents may leave (be sure to take cell phones), Girls will report to the GYM for bag check Boys will report to the CAFETERIA for bag check Chaperones will inspect all suitcases and carry on bags We will remove any items that are prohibited (energy drinks, cell phones, medication, etc.) Pack all toiletries and snacks in CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS to expedite the check in procedure.
Students must have a medical form submitted for this trip! Students that need medication must have their medication brought to school and given to Mrs. Camilli (school nurse) DATES Medical forms are needed for all medication including, TYLENOL, ADVIL, TUMS, MOTION SICKNESS MEDICATION etc….. Students with medical needs will be travelling on bus with nurse. ANY STUDENT WITH DIETARY NEEDS…please send Mrs. Klock/Mrs. Pepe and email with those dietary restrictions so she can make sure they are in place. mklock@somersschools.org apepe@somersschools.org
