We are an academic Sixth Form within an 11-18 state comprehensive high school Standards will match the outstanding provision in the 11-16 school and the learning environment will be similarly structured, stimulating, challenging and supportive Our subject offer must allow students the opportunity to gain access to the ‘best’ University courses and Higher Apprenticeships

Entry into Year 12 - September 2017

A Grade 6 or better in Mathematics A Grade 6 or better in English Language or Literature 4 other GCSE (or equivalent subjects) at Grade B or better There are also specific entry requirements for many A Level subjects We have 150 places available for current Year 11 students, from any school Registration is on GCSE Results Day – 24th August

The working day……

0835-0850: Form Time 0850-0950: Lesson 1 0950-1050: Lesson 2 1050-1110: Break 1110-1210: Lesson 3 1210-1310: Lesson 4 1310-1400: Lunch 1400-1500: Lesson 5 1500-1600: Lesson 6

All Y12 students are expected to be in the Sixth Form Centre until 1500 at the earliest The majority of the working week will be in timetabled A level study There will also be a number of hours devoted to enrichment activities Remaining time will be for private study – and students will be expected to use the time properly ‘There are no shortcuts to success’

Core Curriculum (Aspire): All Linear A Levels

Three A Level Subjects – four can be selected subject to agreement Students selecting Physics must also select Mathematics Students selecting Further Mathematics MUST select FOUR subjects Core Mathematics is a one Year AS course, to be taken with 3 A Levels, and extremely useful for students wishing to maintain maths skills but not taking Maths A Level
