3Paul gathered a bundle of sticks, and as he laid them on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself to his hand.

after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.

  • He was bound and on his way to

trial/prison/death.

  • He experienced shipwreck.
  • He was welcomed.
  • He was bit by a snake.
  • People waited for him to die.
  • He “survived.”
  • He became fruitful.
  • He suffered some more.

David was Anointed

  • His trouble started the day he

was anointed.

  • The demons and pride

tormenting Saul wanted him dead.

  • His enemies wanted him off the

throne, dead, rendered ineffective.

  • HIS ANOINTING REMAINED AND

FLOWED TO HIS DESCENDENTS.
