NDM PLAN 1995

  • In 1991 the Government through the

NDMO office put up a proposal to develop a National Disaster Management Plan to replace the old and outdated EMSEC Manual

  • The Plan incorporates disaster experiences
  • f the past, and recommendations of ideas

after series of four disaster management seminars convened in 1991 to examine & review EMSEC Manual and make draft replacement documents

NDMO ACT 1998

  • The Government managed to adopt the

first Fiji NDM Act 1998 approved in parliament after 19 years from NDMO establishment (1979-1998)

  • This NDM Act 1998 was formulated from

the NDM Plan 1995 ( after 3 years)

  • The NDM Act 1998 is currently in use
