u Masks/shields are required by adults when physical distancing is not

possible

u Students will be trained on the value of wearing masks and will be

encouraged to do so when physical distancing is not feasible

u No disciplinary action will be taken for those who choose not to wear

masks

u Special considerations and accommodations will be made for students on

health care plans and with other special needs

implemented during the spring 2020 soft closure have been reviewed and updated

u Many lessons learned including more training and support for

teachers, students, and parents which includes technology supports and connectivity

Keep in Mind:

u The Utah State Board of Education has noted the following:

u Physical distancing is advised, however it must be acknowledged that

physical distancing of six feet or more apart IS NOT FEASIBLE in many

  • instances. Please remember that schools will have to do their best to

mitigate not eliminate risks (USBE Reopening Guidelines and Leavitt Partners’ document - updated 6/28)

u All State requirements and recommendations are supported by

Canyons District. Departments are prepared to support implementation at the school levels when needed and feasible

u The district plan is not intended to answer all questions but

guide attempts to mitigate risk
