Introduction • CART Fact of the Day: The functional concept behind CART is the redistribution of system resources will reduce the arrival time of ALS • CART Data Workgroup met February 8 th

• Based on presentations at the January 4 th Advisory Council Meeting – Task #1: Validate process and methods for 1 st ALS onscene and FD elapsed scene time – Task #2: Calculate and compare 1 st ALS in perimeter areas

What was discovered and determined • Task #1: Validate process and methods for 1 st ALS onscene and FD elapsed scene time – We do have the ability to effectively merge data and perform calculations

• We do have the ability to effectively merge data and perform calculations – However … there are some issues, process and methodology which need to be addressed

Task #2: Calculate and compare 1 st ALS in perimeter areas • There are some significant questions about parameters and process A) Did not migrate well from CART-Clinical to CART- Community B) Significant variability and unknowns between CART-S, CART-W and CART-CW C) Data collection and processing inconsistencies D) What is a statistically significant change vs. what is a meaningful change

• Workgroup questioned itself: Do we pursue further, and if so, what are we pursing? A) Competing interest considerations B) Research/Data Considerations (What are we looking for and can we provide it?)

The Big Question: What would we like to see and what do we want and need out of data? • We can do data – but should we at this time? – In the context of CART – In the context of Washington County EMS Data – In the context of competing interests at this time

Direction - Next Steps • CART Data Workgroup: – Agreement within the CART Data Workgroup that further work will need to be done and further direction given before any additional analysis and steps can be taken • WCEO: – The CART Pilot concept be passed on to the consultant for further consideration within the context of the other models being given consideration
