Case presentation: 57 yr old male presents with left preauricular mass. Has history of numerous moles removed in past none of which were malignant CT neck showed 2.8 x 2.9 x 2.7 cm mass involving superficial lobe of left parotid and changes

57 yr old male presents with left preauricular mass. Has history of numerous moles removed in past none of which were malignant

SLIDE 2

CT neck showed 2.8 x 2.9 x 2.7 cm mass involving superficial lobe of left parotid and changes in right thyroid consistent with benign goiter

Patient underwent left parotidectomy and selective neck dissection. Pathology revealed 2 lymph nodes largely replaced by melanoma and 1 additional lymph node which was negatve. 17 lymph nodes from the neck were negative. Back to dermatologist for skin exam with no suspicious lesions seen.

Further staging with PET/CT and brain MRI demonstrated small lesion in sella felt to be consistent with a pituitary adenoma, SUV on PET was 2.8. No other findings.
