What is Drive to Strive?

Purpose of Drive to Strive is to promote continued, consistent

funding for all of Penn State, including the Commonwealth Campuses

Signatures are collected in support of said consistent funding
Drive to Strive is a program that is unique to CCSG because it

involves all of the Commonwealth Campuses.

Capital Day

Capital Day is an event sponsored by the

PSU Grassroots Network that occurs late March.

Takes place in Harrisburg at the Capital Complex
Opportunity to meet with your local and regional legislators
Discussion of consistent funding for PSU and campuses

Truly an invaluable resource

Petition Signatures

DTS signatures can come from anybody within

your campus community – students, faculty, staff, community members

While you have the petition on your Commonwealth Campus,

take it with you to on and off campus events – every signature is a great thing and truly means a lot

Going off campus, collecting signatures at area businesses and

residences

In doing so, be respectful to the property owners, you are a rep of

the University and CCSG

Go in a group of two or three, take some binder sheets and

explain what Drive to Strive is in a nutshell.

Driving the signatures

Logistics may prevent the “driving” of the

signatures to the Commonwealth Campuses

Ex. A foot or two of snow hitting one of the campuses
This happened last year
If this happens, please consult with me and I will work with

you

Each campus will have the binder for roughly a week to two

weeks.

20,000 signatures for this year
This is a really far goal, but with your support, I’m certain we

can reach and break this goal

Scheduling

All attempts to schedule dates when your campus will

have the binder will work out with your campus calendar in all ways possible.

Flexibility is good, however there are 20 plus campuses this

has to get to.

Planned binder distribution start is now and will end around

March (Capital Day)

Communication is key to making this a success
Make sure to carefully read your emails and respond to them

and/or any phone calls or text messages.

If something should go wrong with anything pertaining to

Drive to Strive, I need to be informed so I can provide a successful resolution.
