★ The brain hears and translates sound into music.

★ Scans show that the brain is much more actively engaged with music than with speech. ★ Music is a basic human condition. ★ Our attraction to music is not only for enjoyment. It also brings people together. ★ The recognition of pitch can be altered by as much as one and a half tones with medication. ★ We know how the ear catches sound and how the sound waves are translated by about 30,000 auditory nerves into electrical and chemical signals that are transmitted to the brain.

article is a better way to understand or comprehend it through finding the perpetrator. ฀ ฀Perpetrator = the subject of the sentence = it is doing something ฀ ฀Examples: In the sentence “Researchers are beginning to unlock the secrets of the brain.” The subject of the sentence or the perpetrator is “researchers”. These researchers are doing something.

฀When the topic is technical and the style formal, Writers often skip the perpetrator. It is not important, not known, or too obvious. ฀฀Example: “Dissonance is generally perceived as unpleasant.” (No perpetrator is indicated, but we know it is “people” because of the context. ฀฀Considering the previous sentence. We can reword it to show the perpetrator. ฀Example: “People generally perceive dissonance as unpleasant.” (The perpetrator is “people”) ฀IMPORTANT TO KNOW: When situations or sentences have passive verb forms. We can add a prepositional phrase (by/ with) to show the perpetrator. ฀Example: “The movie was watched by thousands of people.”Here “thousands of people” is the perpetrator
