Project Purpose and Need

Purpose: Replace the bridges carrying I-690 over Beech Street and Teall Avenue with structures, in the same location, that would provide a minimum 75-year service life and improve the Teall Avenue interchange by addressing its operational and safety deficiencies. Need:

  • The replacement of I-690 over Beech Street is needed to address structural

deficiencies and nonstandard and nonconforming geometric features.

  • The replacement of I-690 over Teall Avenue is needed to accommodate

interchange improvements and to bring this segment of I-690 up to current standards.
