Our Partners

  • CHILL works with a range of regional, national and

international partners including East Midlands Academic Health Science Network, the EM Patient Safety Collaborative, NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands and various NHS care commissioners and providers.

Recent Collaborations

Our work with the East Midlands Patient Safety Collaborative (PSC)

  • CHILL is working with the EM PSC on a number of exciting and innovation projects, including a

‘researcher-in-residence’ scheme to evidence and spread regional innovations in patient safety. Together CHILL and the PSC are working on a national programme of work with NHS England to promote effective communication at hospital discharge. The PSC’s Lead, Dr Cheryl Crocker, is Honorary Associate Professor with the Business School, and provides expert guidance and advice

  • n its patient safety work.

Our work with One Team Working, Doncaster

  • Simon Bishop spent 2 years working with Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust

(RDaSH) to assist in the evaluation of the One Team Working integrated health and social care

  • programme. This was a comprehensive reorganisation of services aiming to bring about closer

working with the social services of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council as well as other professional groups in the region.

Our Research

  • CHILL manages and contributes to a large portfolio of

applied health research and care. In the last 3 years, we have:

  • secured over £2m in external funding for research
  • devised an innovative and practical evaluation framework
  • evaluated a variety of regional service innovations
  • been awarded prestigious Marie Slodowska-Curie and Health

Foundation Fellowships

  • been awarded 2 Health Foundation Doctoral Cohorts, and ESRC

Our Teaching & Learning

CHILL is home to a number of accredited and cutting edge teaching and learning programmes:

  • Executive Healthcare MBA (AMBA accredited)
  • MSc in Patient Safety & Quality Improvement (with School of Health

Sciences)

  • Bespoke executive education in culture change, commercial

awareness, mergers and partnerships, leadership development (developed with partner organisations)

Our activities

CHILL organises a range of activities and events to which all our partners and collaborators are invited:

  • Monthly lunch time discussion groups (Brown Bags) that focus on new policy and

research developments

  • Monthly ‘research-to-practice’ seminars where national research leaders and service

leaders come together to discuss new developments in policy, research and practice

  • An annual symposium showcasing our research and teaching innovations, and where

past events have involved national and regional service leaders to provide ‘Horizon Scans’ and participate in Question Time public debates

  • An annual doctoral student workshop to showcase and support the development of
  • ur future research leaders
