DRESS CODE

 The DAEP has a MANDATORY dress

code for all students.

 The purpose of the dress code is to

ensure a safe and distraction-free learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff.

 All students must be in the

mandatory dress code at all times while assigned to the DAEP.

Students who drive a vehicle may park

in the student parking lot with a valid parking permit from their home campus.

 If necessary, students may purchase a KLC

parking permit from the front office for $15.

Student parking is located on the east

side of the parking lot ONLY .

ASSIGNMENTS & GRADES

Our primary goal is to ensure each student stays on track with their peers at their home campus All students will complete assignments provided by their home campus teachers

  • r assignments provided by the DAEP teachers on Edgenuity.

3rd – 6th Grade (Elementary) - Students will complete the daily assignments that are required by the home campus teacher. Teachers will calculate zeros into the grade for work not completed. Homework – This may be assigned by the classroom teacher if daily work is not up to date. Grades – Grades are sent to the home campus teachers every three week grading period. Home Access Center will not be correct.

POINT SYSTEM

Focused on Attendance, Behavior, and Academics

Points earned on a daily basis Opportunities for weekly bonus points

Length of DAEP placement based on points 1 day = 100 pts EXAMPLE: (30 days = 3000 pts) (60 days = 6000 pts) Students must earn ALL required points before exiting Points earned for good behavior and completion of daily work/assignments Points earned throughout the day, during check-in, lunch, and dismissal Bonus points reward students with an early exit date

60 Day Placement = 6000 pts Perfect Week

 100 pts per day = 500 pts  + 250 bonus pts  Total weekly points = 750 pts  If student earns 750 pts per week, the 60 day

placement is REDUCED to 40 days

community service at approved nonprofit organizations.

  • Community service hours equate to

daily points, resulting in a earlier release from the DAEP

  • All community service must be

approved by Dr. Jackson in advance.

  • Please contact Dr. Jackson for

  • 6 community service hours = 100 points/1 Day
  • Maximum of 30 hours
  • 30 hours = 500 points/5 days

ATTENDANCE

Only the days you are physically present at DAEP count to reduce the number of days

  • assigned. If absent

please provide note. If you have a Doctor’s appointment please provide Dr. note. To report a student’s absence, the parent or guardian must call DAEP attendance by 8:30 a.m.

Breakfast and Lunch

Lunch accounts transfer to the Keller Learning Center. Students have option of eating school breakfast and lunch. SACK LUNCH can be brought from home The sack lunch must be packed in a clear, Ziploc bag. We do not refrigerate or microwave any food. All items must be sealed. We do not allow:

 Soda  Fast food  Gum or candy  High energy drinks  Drink mix packages  Pre-packaged sealed lunches with any of the above items

COUNSELING PROGRAMS

These services may included:

 Individual counseling  Group guidance and counseling  Guest speakers  Crisis intervention  Family consultation

All students attending DAEP will receive a variety of guidance and counseling services through our school counseling programs

PARENT EDUCATION SESSIONS

At least one parent or guardian must attend a parent education session prior to your student being released back to his/her home

  • campus. Students will receive 100 pts for your

attendance.

Parent Education Sessions are held from 8-9 am or from 6-7 pm on the following dates: August 29 September 19 October 17 November 14 December 12 January 16 February 20 March 12 April 16 May 14

Children are not allowed to attend. Session registration is within online intake packet.

School Property

Parents or guardians are liable for the destruction of any school property by their student.

Trespassing Policy

DAEP students are not allowed to attend any KISD events (even if outside the district) or be on any campus (including your home campus). Students who are found in violation may receive a citation and/or additional time at DAEP .

Reminder

 Any item brought to KLC is subject to

search and may be confiscated.

 Confiscated items must be picked up

by a parent or guardian.

 Items not picked up by end of

student’s assignment will be discarded or donated.
