English Learners Advisory Council (ELAC)
ELAC advises the Principal and Site Council on the effectiveness
and needs of M-A’s program for its 400+ English Learners (ELs). About 120 M-A students take English Language Development classes & about 300 are long-term English Learners. ELAC parent members are a core group within M-A’s comprehensive series of Parent Events and Trainings on High School Effectiveness and Preparation for College.

★ M-A High School Athletics has been successful winning the Commissioners Cup 11 straight times! ★ In 2018, our football team won its first ever Div 3 State Championship! ★ Numerous other PAL Team, as well as individual Conference Championships!

★ M-A Sports Boosters is made up of 16 parents, community members, businesses and alumni. ★ We raise approximately $225K each and every year, to fill the gap required to be successful.

Step 1: Students need their login information:
- User name: student ID number
- Password: First and last Name Initials + 6 digit birthdate
(For example: jb090405) Step 2: Students need Student Schedule (Access Through Infinite Campus) Steps 3: Students go into CANVAS Learning Platform Step 4: Students click on the course for appropriate period; ZOOM links for each course will be listed on Home Page. Establish consistent routines and concrete expectations
- Work with your your student to define the physical space for study
- Take an active role in helping your children process their learning by asking
- questions. Become a partner learner.
- Encourage your student to reach out to teachers and attend office hours
- Begin each day with a check-in; end each day with a check-out
- Encourage physical activity and exercise
- Remain mindful of your child’s stress or worry
- Monitor how much time your child is spending online
- Keep your children social, but set rules around their social media.
- Establish times for quiet and reflection
