1 To develop a centre of excellence for undergraduate and postgraduate nuclear studies to support sustainable nuclear power programmes in the UK and internationally 2 To develop research in the areas of nuclear materials, nuclear safety, nuclear security and safeguards to support Government and Industry in relation:

  • nuclear regulation;
  • the effective management of nuclear safety, nuclear security

and nuclear safeguards at nuclear sites; and

  • the implications of new nuclear technologies
