Who we are….

APD provides a variety of services and supports to Floridians with developmental disabilities. Pursuant to s. 393.063(9), F.S., a “developmental disability” includes any of the following conditions:

  • Mental retardation
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Autism
  • Spina Bifida
  • Prader-Willi Syndrome

Who we are….

  • APD provides services to 29,374 individuals with

developmental disabilities through one of several Home and Community-Based waivers.

  • Another 21,511 individuals are currently on a

waiting list for waiver enrollment.

  • Approximately 4,848 APD clients are receiving

services within institutional settings (such as nursing homes and intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled).

APD and Assisted Living Facilities

  • There are 79 ALFs throughout the state which are

enrolled to render services to APD clients through the Developmental Disabilities Home and Community Based Services Waiver program.

  • There are approximately 571 APD clients currently

residing within ALFs.
