College Coach System • Seneca staff who: – Choose to participate in the program – Take an active interest in student’s college progress – Willing to assist students in exploring services that can improve their skills – Motivate students to successfully complete their academic journey – Keep the students connected, on track, goal and motivated Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology
College Coach System Cont’d • Student meets with College Coach bi-weekly • Research shows that ongoing connections between college staff and students, is vital for student satisfaction, success and retention • Staff feel a sense of value, belonging, and motivation too! The Results • Students who participated in the SUCCESS@Seneca program were more successful • Students who participated in all components (Orientation, College Coach, On-Line) were more successful than those who only participated in one or two components.
