Transportation
- Busing will continue to be provided to students that live farther than 1mile
from school (elementary) and 1.75 mile from school (middle), as well as to high school students with disabilities who have transportation on their IEP .
- Busing will follow state and local guidelines. Students will ride two to a seat,
with a preference to students of the same household sitting together.
- Students will wear masks when riding the bus and while waiting at the bus
stop.
- Buses will be equipped with hand-sanitizing stations for use by students as
they board the bus.
- All buses will be disinfected at the end of each day with an electrostatic
sprayer.

Commitment to Health and Safety
- All staff will be required to wear face masks or shields when
instructing, moving about the building or meeting in groups.
- Students in grades K-2 will be strongly encouraged (Risk Levels
1,2, and 3) to wear face masks or shields when 6’ social distancing cannot be maintained.
- Students in grades 3-12 will be expected (Risk Levels 1 and 2) to
wear face masks or shields when 6’ social distancing cannot be maintained.

- Additional cleaning and PPE will be implemented in accordance
with the CDC and Ohio and Summit County COVID-19 guidelines.
- Students will be given time to practice proper hygiene routines
with the help of Akron Children’s Hospital medical assistants and
- staff. Videos will be made available for families for practicing at
home.
- Personal health care and safety lessons will be modeled and
practiced to support everyone’s safety.

Commitment to Health and Safety
- Health checklists and temperature assessments should take place
at home by families before coming to school each day, whether arriving by bus, car, or walking.
- Hand sanitizer will be located at entrances and in all classrooms.
- Students and staff will practice regular hand washing routines.
- Each classroom will be equipped with cleaning supplies to sanitize
work areas throughout the day.
- At the end of each day, the classrooms, restrooms, offices and all
touch surfaces will be disinfected with an electrostatic sprayer.

- K-5 classrooms will be limited to 18 - 22 students per classroom.
- K-12 will follow a 1:1 ratio for students-to-devices, eliminating the
need for sharing devices.
- K-12 classrooms will adhere to 3’ to 6’ social distancing.
- Directional signs will be posted in hallways and on stairs so that
students only travel in one direction with only one class at a time.

Meals
- K - 5 During Risk Levels 1 and 2, breakfast and lunches will be
served while still remaining socially distant. Each building will create a procedure that is best fitting for students’ social and safety needs.
- K - 5 During Risk Levels 3 and 4, the district is working on plans
that will be communicated.
- 6 - 12 Grab and Go Lunches will be available for students during
Risk Levels 1, 2, and 3. The district is working on plans for breakfast, as well as plans for Risk Level 4.

expectations on assignments, learning activities, and assessments.

Option 2: Black Tiger Remote Learning Academy
All students (K-12) in Option 2 will learn at home via an updated, more robust 100% remote learning experience, including:
- Cuyahoga Falls City School District (CFCSD) teachers/administrators will
- versee the program with face-to-face time each day.
- The curriculum will meet the same standards as the CFCSD curriculum
and the State of Ohio.
- Students participating in this option will be using an online curriculum
and platform designed by an outside company for the basis of instruction.
- 100% online learning option for families who prefer a virtual education.

Option 2: Black Tiger Remote Learning Academy
Elementary students (K-5) will be expected to have access to log into their Google Classroom during student hours (8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) to participate in live instruction with their teacher and to take part in small group learning opportunities.
- Students will not be online for the entire learning day. Students
need to be available to engage with their classroom community of learners to continue growing their social skills, interacting with peers, and to engage in interactive learning.
- Secondary students (6-12) will have required check-in times, as
well as times for teacher office hours and small group instruction, during 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Option 2: Black Tiger Remote Learning Academy
- Elementary students (K-5) will use the same resources that are used
for the students that attend school on-site. The pacing may be different, but the scope and sequence of learning will remain the same.
- All students will be responsible for district and state testing even if
they participate in the Black Tiger Remote Learning Academy.

Option 2: Black Tiger Remote Learning Academy Teachers:
- CFCSD teachers will be selected for the Black Tiger Remote Learning
Academy because of their passion to build relationships with students and their ability to engage students in learning using the Cuyahoga Falls curricula and resources using the online platform.
- Teachers will be instrumental in designing the specific schedules
based on student need.
- Teachers who are responsible for instruction in this remote learning
will receive professional development and ongoing support in technology.

Next Steps - The District is committed to these next steps:
- Recommendations from our partners in safety and education: Ohio
Department of Education (ODE), Ohio Department of Health (ODH), Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Summit County Health Department (SCHD) will be followed.
- Weekly task force planning meetings will continue to prepare for
the new school year.
- Operational procedures will continue to be tested and refined.
- Online courses and instructional practices will continue to be
created.
- Virtual Learning Option information sessions for parents will be
planned.

through December 2020
- Families will receive a commitment form via email, and they will be
asked to respond within two weeks. Forms will also be available on the district webpage and printed copies will be available at the board office for those who need them.
